CNY Economic Development Projects Seek State FundingPosted: September 18, 2012
The CNY Regional Economic Council has announced the projects it has applied to NY State for funding under Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s scheme to decentralize decision making on economic development. The council works in a four county area and this is the second year that funds have been allocated through this system.
The projects in Onondaga County that the council seeks funding for include $1.5 million for the Inner Harbor development, $3.4 million to develop a health care campus with Syracuse Community Health Care on S. Salina Street, $1.5 million to build a grocery store on South Avenue, $2.5 to redevelop the Sibley’s department store downtown into mixed residential/commercial use and $1 million updating the neo-natal intensive care department at Crouse hospital.
